James R. (Jim) Acton, Jr., is the Director of Human Resources for Florida Atlantic University (FAU). As the Director of Human Resources for FAU, Mr. Acton is responsible for managing the human resource functions of Employee/Labor Relations, Classification & Compensation, Employee Benefits, Staffing and Training and Development. Mr. Acton began his Human Resources career with Broward County as a Labor Relations Analyst and progressed through increasingly responsible positions including Labor Relations Manager, Assistant Director of Human Resources and Director of Human Resources.

Mr. Acton is certified as an HR Professional (IPMA-CP) by the International Public Management Association for HR and as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resource Management. Mr. Acton is a member of the International Personnel Management Association (IPMA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and has served as President, Vice President, Secretary and Executive Board Member of the Florida Public Employer Labor Relations Association (FPELRA).

Kurt Adler is Corporate Human Resources Manager for the PFS Business Unit Northeast and Southeast Regions and a Senior Vice President of Northern Trust Corporation.  He is responsible for all Human Resource activities on the east coast of the United States, including the States of Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Delaware, as well as their Washington DC location.
Prior to his employment with Northern Trust in 1997, Kurt worked for 11 years as Corporate Director of Human Resources and Administration for QST Enterprises and all its operating subsidiaries, and also served as President of ESSI, a 90-employee subsidiary of QST. Prior to his employment with QST, Kurt served honorably in the United States Air Force where he was an expert marksman and a recipient of the Air Force Commendation and Good Conduct medals.
Kurt graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and has received his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) accreditation from the Society for Human Resource Management.
Kurt serves both as a South Florida Senior Banking Human Resources Roundtable and Florida State University Center for Human Resource Management executive member; and previously served as Chairman and Executive Board Member of the South Florida Center for Financial Training (CFT): as well as Executive Board Member, Corporate Secretary, and Personnel Committee Chair for Miami Lighthouse for the Blind.

 

 

Stanley Bloom

Stanley Bloom began his HR career with Texas Instruments working in recruiting, compensation, and benefits manager, and then as Director of HR in El Salvador. He then joined the Gillette Company as HR manager for Latin America, next was an assignment in Germany as head of international HR for Braun AG. He then returned to the US as HR manager for Asia Pacific, and international consultant for Oral B and Jafra cosmetics.

As SVP for Chubb Latin America, he is responsible for the strategic directions of all aspects of HR; He has lead a campaign for high performance where management development has become an integral part of the regions DNA.

Stan is also an instructor for World at Work, and has facilitated international HR courses in Hong Kong, Singapore, Finland, Switzerland and South Africa. He is also a guest lecturer at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale where he is also on the board of the Hudson Institute (executive education). Stan is currently the president of LAPA, Latin America Personnel Association, an HR networking group that focuses on issues in Latin America. His philanthropic work includes board work for International Children’s heart fund that has provided cardio thoracic training to over 20 emerging countries.

He holds a BS in international business from Boston University and an MBA from Suffolk University.

 

 

 

Linda G. Bond

Ms. Bond received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee-Martin and a Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law. During law school, Ms. Bond was a member of the Moot Court team and served in various capacities with Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Bond was employed in several human resources management positions with GTE Corporation, including Director of Employee Relations, Manager of Compensation and Benefits Worldwide, and Plant Human Resources Manager. Her last position was Director of Human Resources Development, which included the development and delivery of professional development programs for GTE's 1,500 human resources professionals.

Ms. Bond is an attorney with the labor and employment law firm of Allen, Norton, and Blue. She is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the Northern, Middle and Southern United States District Courts in Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She is also a member of the Labor and Employment and Equal Opportunities sections of the Florida Bar.

Ms. Bond is a certified mediator and a frequent speaker and trainer on employment law matters for in-house and public seminars. She has been a guest lecturer at Florida State University College of Business and the School of Business and Industry at Florida A & M University. Ms. Bond is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), The Florida Association of Police Attorneys, the Big Bend Society of Human Resources, the Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors and past president of Tallahassee Habitat for Humanity. George Boué

As Vice President of Human Resources, George Boué is responsible for developing and managing the programs that optimize the company's most important assets, its people. An experienced executive, George was previously vice president of human resources for MasTec, Inc. in Miami, one of North America's largest telecommunications and utilities infrastructure development companies. Previously, he worked as a human resources business partner with Nortel Networks in wide-ranging roles that included directing human resources management from Nortel's Caribbean and Latin America headquarters in Sunrise, FL. He also directed the HR department for a Silicon Valley acquisition of Nortel's, Shasta IP Services.

George graduated with an MBA from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and received a Master of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Hunter College School of Medicine in New York. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the national Society for Human Resources Management, and is fluent in Spanish.

Lynn Broadhurst

Ms. Broadhurst is Sr. Director, Benefits and Human Resource Systems for General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), located in St. Petersburg Florida with sales of approximately $1.5 billion. GD-OTS’ core businesses are defense and defense related products with facilities in the U.S. and Canada.

Ms. Broadhurst has over 30 years of experience in Benefits and Human Resources. She began her career in the Corporate Headquarters of Olin Corporation, Stamford, CT. and progressed through the leadership roles in Benefits, Human Resources and Finance. She relocated to Florida in 1996 when Olin “spun off” its defense business and formed Primex Technologies, a publicly traded company, which was later purchased by General Dynamics (GD).

During her tenure with Olin, Primex, and now GD, Lynn has continued her leadership role with increased responsibility on a corporate level including managing Corporate Payroll, Pension & 40lk, Health and Welfare Plans, Human Resources Information Systems, Compensation and Employee Relations.

Lynn holds a B.S. degree in Finance and A.S. degree in Accounting from Sacred Heart University in CT. She is also active in the community through various organizations and functions.

 

 

Suzanne Calfee
Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Suzanne Calfee is the Senior Vice President for Human Resources for the Kaplan University Group (KUG). She is responsible for developing and leading HR strategies designed to achieve organizational effectiveness. She serves as a key advisor to senior executives, leads succession planning and talent development efforts, and oversees employee engagement initiatives.

Calfee joined Kaplan in 2005 as the Vice President of Human Resource Operations, where she designed and built the operations department to ensure compliance and efficiency within the organization and launched Kaplan University’s first employee engagement survey. In 2009, she assumed the role of Vice President of Human Resources for Kaplan University Group, and was promoted into her current role in 2011.

Prior to Kaplan, Calfee served in a variety of HR leadership roles for several large corporations. Most recently, she was the vice president of HR for Vitamin Shoppe Industries, where she led the company’s first strategic planning process, reengineered various functions to generate cost savings and build efficiencies, and launched an integrated, blended learning leadership development program. She also held executive positions at Office Depot, Inc., First Data Corporation and Montgomery Wards.

Calfee earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Labor Studies and Industrial Relations from Pennsylvania State University. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) and is a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA), the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and WorldAtWork. Calfee serves on the Board of Directors for The Florida State University’s Center for Human Resource Management.

Stephen Cerrone

Cerrone has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Providence College in Rhode Island, and a Master of Arts degree and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston. G. Patrick Chaffin

Pat Chaffin is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana having an undergraduate degree from LSU and a Masters from the University of Oklahoma. His professional experiences include nine years on active duty as an army officer, an assistant professorship at Tulane University in New Orleans and progressive Human Resources roles in the private sector. These include positions managing human resources, organizational development, staffing, employee relations, compensation, and training functions.

Pat's current role leads the Human Resources support for the $28 billion SunTrust Bank Florida franchise. His responsibilities include talent planning, organizational development and line of business partnership support for approximately 10,000 employees. In addition to his other duties, he successfully served as the Human Resources team lead for the purchase of the Huntington Florida business unit consisting of over 50 branch-banking units and over 1,100 employees. Pat previously served as the Corporate Director of Human Resources for the South Financial Group, a regional multi-bank holding company and other experiences include 13 years with Barnett Banks Inc. serving as Human Resource Director for Barnett Operations Company, the South Banking Region, and Barnett Technologies and Telebanking.

Pat is a member of "O-Force Orlando," a joint business government venture to improve job skill development, Junior Achievement and is active in community and charitable events. He lives in Orlando with his wife, Debby, and they have two adult children.

 

 

 

Joyce Chastain

Joyce Chastain, SPHR, has over 30 years of progressive human resources experience in the private sector environment. She is the Human Resources Director at Mainline Information Systems, Inc. and also maintains a human resources consulting practice specializing in Affirmative Action Plans, Employee Handbooks, Internal Investigations and Manager & Supervisor Training. Ms. Chastain holds a Business Administration degree from Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, GA; was awarded Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation by the Human Resources Certification Institute and holds an Advanced Certificate in Internal Investigations. She currently serves as the Secretary of the HR Florida Council and has been a Board Member of the Big Bend Society for Human Resource Management since 2006, serving as President in 2008. Ms. Chastain has been named Leon County Schools Adult Volunteer of the Year and a Tallahassee Democrat Volunteer of the Year Finalist. Marietta Cozzi

Marietta Cozzi is vice president, Staffing. In this role, Cozzi is responsible for the development and execution of strategies to recruit diverse, high quality candidates for Prudential Financial.

Prior to joining Prudential in 2005, Cozzi served as vice president of Human Resources at the American Express Company for 18 years, where she led the company’s global assessment, selection and recruitment functions. She previously held positions including vice president, Employee Relations and Human Resource Generalist.

Cozzi currently serves on the board of the Center for Human Resource Management in the College of Business at Florida State University. She was also past vice president of the Broward County Urban League from 1990 to 1992.

Dan DiDomenico
VP of Human Resources, Latin American and Canada

Dan DiDomenico was named vice president of human resources for the Latin America and Canada region of First Data International in 2002. In this role, DiDomenico oversees all employee relations, compensation and benefits, recruiting and retention activities for First Data card issuing and merchant services segments serving Latin America and Canada.

Prior to taking on this responsibility, he was vice president of human resources for PaySys International, a card issuing and management services provider which was acquired by First Data in April of 2001. In this role, he managed and directed human resource functions for 400+ employees in two domestic locations and five international locations. DiDomenico began his career over 25 years ago holding positions of increasing responsibility with Display Data Corporation, Travelers\ EBS, Inc. and Electronic Data Systems, Inc.

DiDomenico earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at St John Fisher College in Rochester, New York and a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

 

 

 

 

 

David Faulkenberry
Director of Human Resources

David Faulkenberry serves as Deputy Secretary of workforce programs for the Department of Management Services. With more than a decade of finance and project management experience, his skill set enables him to successfully manage the state's personal system, state group insurance plan and the Florida Retirement System. Combined these division have a $108 million operating budget representing more than 900,000 members.

Before becoming the Deputy Secretary in July 2007, he led the Division of Human Resource Management where he was responsible for establishing all goals, objectives, and priorities for the human resource policy unit and People First team (the largest state government HR outsourcing initiative). He also owned his own consulting firm and was the Chief Financial Officer for the Florida Lottery where he served as a key advisor to the Secretary on all policy matters relating to administration, financial operation, budget, and procurement of goods and services for the Florida Lottery (an entity with annual revenues of $2.7 billion, profits of approximately $1 billion, and a budget of $145 million).

Deputy Secretary Faulkenberry received his bachelor of arts in finance from the University of West Florida. He lives in Tallahassee with his wife and daughter and is an avid golfer.

 

 

 

Kathryn M. Fisk
Director of Human Resources

Kathryn Fisk currently serves as the Regional Director of Human Resources at Tenet Healthcare for the Florida Region.

Prior to joining Tenet in 2009, Ms. Fisk served in several senior-level HR positions, including Corporate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Baptist Health South Florida, Vice President of Human Resources at Brockton Hospital in Massachusetts, and Associate Vice Chancellor at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and Medical School. Before entering the human resources profession, Ms. Fisk, with undergraduate and graduate degrees in biology, worked in clinical and research laboratories.  In addition to her biology degrees, Ms. Fisk holds her MBA from Anna Maria College and has lifetime SPHR certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Ms. Fisk is Past President of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA).  Before that, she served two terms as the ASHHRA Regional Director for New England. Ms. Fisk has served on various committees and has received many awards throughout her career – the most recent being the national Paul Guy Mentorship Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and mentorship to others in the field of health care human resources she also has received the Distinguished Service Award which recognized her for her lifetime of leadership and service in the health care human resources field. She also served for many years on the board and as an officer of the Central Massachusetts Chapter of SHRM. In addition, Ms. Fisk has served on a variety of community, regional and national boards.  She is currently serving on the Florida State University Center for Human Resource Management board, the University of Miami Human Resources Advisory Committee, the Keiser University Advisory Board and the Florida International University Master of Science Human Resource Management Advisory Board.

Ms. Fisk is an avid sports enthusiast and has coached her three son’s baseball and soccer teams. She also loves ballet, the theater, and is a collector of antiques. 

 

Stephen V. Fuller
Vice President, Human Resources

Highly regarded for his unique blend of human resources and labor management expertise Steve Fuller joined The GEO Group Inc. in July 2006 as their Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, he oversees all HR activities for this 13,000+ employee international company with revenues exceeding $1 billion. The GEO Group, Inc. is a world leader in the delivery of correctional, detention and residential treatment services to federal, state and local government agencies around the globe.

Mr. Fuller's most recent position was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for AmeriPath, Inc., the leading anatomic pathology company in the US. As one of the founding executive officers, Fuller contributed to this fast-growth company from start-up to annual revenue of $1 billion, with 3,500 employees, physicians and scientists. The company is located in 23 states, including 40 laboratories and 200 hospitals. In this position Fuller demonstrated an ability to translate strategic vision into human performance, earning respect as a collaborative business partner who championed change during the company's meteoric growth, including 50+ mergers and acquisitions.

At AmeriPath, Fuller was responsible for all HR functions, provided consultation on critical organizational issues, managed company communications, and led the sales and marketing departments as the interim Director. Fuller was valued for his ability to drive results among multi-site workforces, and was honored as the recipient of the "Chairman's Award for Most Valuable Contributor." Fuller was noted for his skill to maintain flat expenses over multiple years, despite double digit growth in healthcare costs. Further, he was recognized for significantly improving the company's ability to attract, retain and motivate talent, recruiting hundreds of physicians, negotiating thousands of contracts, implementing HR information systems, designing leadership development programs, and establishing the AmeriPath Corporate University and its many learning opportunities. Fuller has a Masters in Business Administration (Dean's List) from Nova Southeastern University Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Auburn University. Joyce A. Ingram
Assistant Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Joyce A. Ingram:

As Assistant Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Florida State University, Joyce Ingram provides leadership for all human resources functions including classification, compensation, benefits, labor and employee relations, compliance and diversity, training and organizational development, employment and recruitment, supplier diversity, HRIS, HR IT, HR satellites, and the HR Joint Venture with the Office of the Dean of the Faculties; providing support to students, faculty, and staff.

Prior to coming to FSU, Ingram served as the Director of Diversity and Community Relations for Quaker Foods and Beverages (QFB), a business unit of PepsiCo Beverages and Foods, North America. There, Ingram led diversity and inclusion leadership initiatives, compliance and community relations activities covering 7,000 employees, ensuring alignment with QFB and PepsiCo's business strategies and objectives. Previously, Ingram served as the director of Human Resources for all five QFB business units' marketing teams, and had corporate-wide responsibility for Diversity. In addition, Ingram previously served as the director of Labor Relations and New Work Systems and held numerous HR positions both in corporate and plant environments.

Ingram began her career in human resources at the University of Illinois where she served in a variety of roles including personnel officer, chief labor negotiator and chief hearing officer for grievances. Her core competencies include Human Resources Management, Labor and Employee Relations, Diversity/Inclusion Leadership and Compliance, and Strategic Planning.

Ingram received her B.A. in History from Livingstone College, in Salisbury N.C., an M.A. in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois, and a J.D. from the University of Illinois. She is also a member of the Illinois Bar Association.

 

 

 

Charles Johnson
Vice President, Relationship Leader for HUman Resources

Charles Johnson is the vice president/relationship leader for Human Resources at the American Express Service Center - Fort Lauderdale. Charles assumed this position on July 7, 2008.

In this role, Charles provides end-to-end HR and employee strategies to American Express Service Center-Fort Lauderdale and Billing & Payment Services. He is also tasked with providing strategic leadership/advice/support to the AESC-F Executive Team and Service Delivery Network-wide HR initiatives.

Charles started his human resources career at Cellular One supporting a call center in a human resources business partner capacity. He moved to AT&T Wireless where he progressed from Director, Human Resources, Southeast Region to Vice President, Human Resources, Eastern Area to Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations. In these roles, Charles successfully led a team of professionals in support of the Regional Distribution Channels, Call Center Operations, and Administration groups. Charles was recruited to Office Depot in 2001 where he was the Executive Human Resources Business Partner, reporting to the President of the Business Solutions Division. In this capacity, he led all human resources activity for a $4.6 billion business with 1,800 Sales Representatives in 60 North America locations and over 3,400 associates in Call Center Operations located in Florida, Georgia, India, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.

Charles earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Florida State University and an MPA (Master of Public Administration) from Florida International University with concentration in Human Resources Management. He is PHR certified and has participated in Executive HR programs at Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania.

 

 

 

 

Carmen Johnson
Vice President, Human Resources and Total Rewards

Carmen S. Johnson is vice president of Human Resources (HR) and Total Rewards for JM Family Enterprises, Inc. (JM Family), a diversified automotive company headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Fla. In this position, she leads an HR team of four vice presidents, nine directors and their staffs, for over 4,700 associates. Johnson's responsibilities include strategically aligning Human Resources with each of the company's business units in order to maximize the benefit to associates company wide.

Before joining JM Family in September 2007, Johnson was a labor and employment lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in labor-related law and employment compliance. She was with Muller Mintz for 17 years, which merged with the highly respected law firm of Akerman Senterfitt. She also functioned as JM Family's outside employment counsel for more than 10 years.

Johnson has served her community in professional and charitable organizations as a former member of the Board of Directors for Family Counseling Services of Greater Miami and has been active in Lawyer's for Children of America. She also supports the United Way of Broward County and the Youth Automotive Training Center.

Johnson earned both her law and business administration degrees cum laude from the University of Miami. She is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in multiple courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. She is also board certified in labor and employment law. Johnson resides in Miami, Fla. with her husband, Mark, and their three children.

Ms. Larson, an Honors graduate from the Florida State University College of Law, has also served the State of Florida as an Assistant Attorney General, handling employment litigation cases for all three branches of state government; as legal counsel for other state agencies such as the Florida Departments of State, Law Enforcement, and Management Services; as counsel for the Florida Board of Bar Examiners; and as an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting major felony cases.
She is a current member of National Association of State Personnel Executives and serves on their Executive Committee.  She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.  Ms. Larson also serves as Chair of the Florida State Employees’ Charitable Campaign Statewide Steering Committee.  She was included in the 2000-2001 Edition of Who’s Who of American Women.

Magaly "Maggie" Laureano

In 1993 Maggie joined First Fidelity Bancorporation which was subsequently acquired by First Union National Bank. In 1995, Maggie transferred to Miami, Florida with First Union. During her six year tenure with them she held positions as OD Consultant, HR Business Partner, Southeast Regional Recruiting Manager and Director of HR for their Specialty Banking Division in the Southeast. In 2001, Maggie joined Union Planters Bank in Miami as Regional HR Director supporting their operations in FL, LA and TX. Union Planters was acquired by Regions Bank in 2004 and Maggie relocated to their corporate headquarters in Birmingham, AL to create and run a centralized recruiting practice. In 2006, Regions merged with AmSouth Bank and Maggie returned to south Florida, joining DHL as Director of Human Resources for their corporate office in Plantation. She joined Embraer in 2008.

Maggie has been active in the community for many years. She was on the Board of The March of Dimes in Miami; co-chaired an HR Committee for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; member and instructor with "If I Had a Hammer" in Birmingham, AL; member of SHRM and the local Broward county chapter.
