Daniel A. Hash

Hometown:  Layton, Utah

Marital Status:  Single

Branch of Service:  U.S. Air Force

Profile:

Dan is a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of the EBV program at Florida State University (2008).  Dan served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and he earned three degrees while serving in the United States Air Force. He is currently working on an MBA with an emphasis on international business and entrepreneurship.

Dan is the founder of one of the most unique businesses to ever come out of the EBV program.  Dan’s business - United Doves - releases doves for weddings, funerals, birthdays, and other celebrations that are trained to navigate home.  Dan’s love for birds began when he caught his first pigeon by hand at the age of five. His first bird release was in 1989 as an endeavor to honor his grandfather. Dan’s entrepreneurial venture actually began while he was stationed in Iraq, where he began writing his business plan. The venture was put into action and hit the ground running in 2004, after he returned home to the States. After attending the EBV program at Florida State University in 2008, Dan created a franchise of his business for other dove enthusiasts. The white dove release business has grown into a multi-million dollar industry with positive demand and growth potential.

In addition to United Doves, Dan started a spin-off company, White Pigeon Sales, which offers all the supplies needed to start a dove release business. White Pigeon Sales has become a key supplier in the white dove release industry and is ranked #1 in Google’s search engine. This venture has proven to be as successful as his initial venture, and Dan expects exponential growth in this industry.

For Dan, entrepreneurship means “learning how to find passion from within, and offering something back to society that hasn't been there before - to create meaning that will bless the lives of others for generations to come.” Daniel believes that despite whatever trials may come in life, “there is hope … where there is a will there is a way.” Dan is grateful that he is able to do what he enjoys despite obstacle that would have caused others to give up.

Dan recently moved to Kaysville, UT to expand the business and address the growing demand of dove releases in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area.
