STUDENT RECRUITMENT

This is provided to assist employers with their student recruitment activities.

Posting a Position Opening:

Employers seeking to hire real estate majors for full-time, part-time, or internship opportunities are invited to post their position opening on our RMI Job Board or our Real Estate Job Board. Employers should complete either the RMI employer submission form or the REE employer submission form giving a brief description of the position and contact information.

Identifying Prospective Students:

Insurance and real estate majors, at their option, have elected to post their résumé on our departmental website. To identify prospective candidates for employment opportunities, please view the RMI student résumés or the Real Estate student résumés. Employers are encouraged to contact students directly regarding opportunities within their organization.

Setting Up Campus Interviews:

  • Interviewing at the Real Estate Trends Conference (Fall):
    Companies interested in interviewing real estate majors prior to the FSU Real Estate Trends & Networking Conference should make arrangements through the University Career Center. Availability of interview rooms is limited. Interview schedules for full-time employment and/or internships can be set up by calling Ms. Pearly Rosier in the Florida State University Career Center (850.644.6493), or online at http://www.career.fsu.edu.

    In addition, the fifth floor of the University Center Club will be available following the conference for companies to informally meet with students and distribute company information.

  • Interviewing at Insurance Days (Spring):
    Interviews are conducted for Risk Management / Insurance majors as a part of the Insurance Days Placement Program. More information. . .
  • General Campus Interviewing:
    Employers desiring to interview students at other times during the academic year should register with the Career Center and schedule interviews well in advance of their intended campus visit. To register, contact Myrna Hoover, College of Business Placement Director, or her assistant, Debbie Crowder, at 850.644.4023. Note that it is important to indicate which major(s) you wish to interview (i.e., real estate, finance, marketing, etc.).

Additional Career Center Services:

  • Accommodations for information sessions/receptions
  • Private interview rooms
  • Meetings with university faculty or administrators
  • Career Expositions—The Career Center sponsors several career expositions each year. These events give employers an opportunity to meet and talk with students and recent graduates about permanent full-time employment, internships, cooperative education positions, and summer employment in a central and informal setting. Call (850) 644-9773 for information about how to participate in these events.
