Michael Cheezem
Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Mike Cheezem is a second-generation Florida builder and developer. Mr. Cheezem founded JMC Development Inc. in 1972 and JMC Communities in 1978 with a mission to build superior communities that provide peace of mind, comfort and enduring pride of ownership. JMC Communities is committed to innovative design, thoughtful home planning, attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. Mr. Cheezem has directed the purchase, development, construction and sales of 14 communities on both Florida coasts and South Carolina, totaling more than 4,000 homes, plus a successful partnership with Hampton Inn in downtown St. Petersburg and the Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach.
Mr. Cheezem is active in many organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Pinellas Marine Institute, YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, Children’s Dream Fund, Mayor’s Mentors and More, Tampa Bay Watch, United Way, Pinellas Education Foundation’s Doorways and SAVE scholarship programs, Boy Scouts, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and Police Athletic League, among others. Cheezem is married to Katherine, and is the proud father of five children.
