We know if pursuing an MBA is part of your career goals, you likely have a specific occupation in mind. That’s why at Florida State University we’ve designed our MBA curriculum to suit you. All full-time MBA students are required to take 42 credit hours. This includes 27 credit hours from a core set of courses aimed at strengthening your managerial skills in the fundamentals ranging from accounting and marketing to operations and strategy.
Accelerated MBA students are also required to enroll in an additional three credit hours of professional development seminars.
When it comes to the 12 credit hours of flex courses, however, you get to choose.
We provide you a suggested set of four options that will serve you well no matter your industry:
- Business to Business Sales and Marketing
- Supply Chain Marketing
- Fundamentals of Risk Management
- Investments
We also encourage you to choose the Global Business Seminar for one or two of your flex courses. This seminar focused on international commerce culminates with a trip abroad.
You also have the option of creating your own expertise by taking graduate-level flex courses, when available, in the following fields from world-class faculty members:
- Accounting (on campus)
- Finance (on campus)
- Marketing (on campus)
- Real Estate (online)
- Management Information Systems (online; available only to Online MBA students)
Specialization options are subject to program director approval and appropriate student background. Availability is limited.
We also offer joint MBA degrees with the College of Law.
