There are many student clubs, organizations and fraternities affiliated with the College of Business that provide students with opportunities to get involved!  While some clubs and organizations are more targeted to a particular interest or industry, most are open to all business students regardless of major.

In addition to the organizations listed below, there are approximately 700 registered student clubs and organizations at Florida State University. Business Fraternities

Alpha Kappa Psi 

 

 
As the oldest and largest co-ed professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi is recognized as the premier developer of principled business leaders.  The organization focuses on professional development and networking while supporting the local community through service projects.

Membership provides valuable benefits and personal growth, both professionally and socially.  Through a variety of activities, members have an opportunity to develop leadership, organization, time management, and speaking skills to prepare them to excel in “real world” business.


Delta Sigma Pi 
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities and to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice. The organization promotes closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce and furthering a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture, as well as the civic and commercial welfare of the community. In addition to hosting professional, community service and social events, Delta Sigma Pi provides students the opportunity to participate in leadership conferences and corporate tours.


Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) 
 
An international risk management, insurance and actuarial science collegiate fraternity, Gamma Iota Sigma primarily consists of business students majoring in risk management and insurance, but is open to students of all majors. The purpose of GIS is to provide opportunities for members to advance their insurance industry knowledge through professional activities and networking with practitioners. Additionally, GIS provides opportunities for social contacts and mutual encouragement of members toward achievement of their career goals.


Pi Sigma Epsilon 
 
Pi Sigma Epsilon is the only national co-ed professional fraternity in the fields of marketing, sales and management. The organization gives members the chance to gain hands-on experience through experiential learning opportunities, regional and national conferences, and networking events with professionals around the country. Pi Sigma Epsilon offers professional workshops, marketing and sales projects, public speaking practice and leadership opportunities to foster personal and professional growth. Our goal is to create improved methods and techniques in the fields of professional selling, marketing and sales management.

General Interest Clubs & Organizations

Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) 

 

 
ALPFA is the longest standing Latino organization with more than 160 student chapters across America. Benefits of membership in the organization extend beyond campus borders.  This nationwide network of students and professionals all work to carry out one mission – providing opportunity.  With regular workshops, conferences and conventions, ALPFA provides the tools necessary for students to develop as both professionals and individuals.  


Business Case Club at FSU 
The Business Case Club at FSU trains students to read and analyze business cases, as well as present solutions to real-world business problems. Members are engaged in critical-thinking and public-speaking activities to enhance their presentation skills. Each semester, members collaborate with peers on multiple mock business cases to strengthen team-building and leadership skills, culminating with an opportunity to compete in an internal case competition to showcase skills to a panel of judges. Open to all FSU Students.


Consulting Group 
 
The Florida State University Consulting Group is a not-for-profit, entirely student-run consulting firm based out of the FSU College of Business.  Members of the group, in partnership with an advisory board, solve a wide spectrum of business complexities for organizations and businesses throughout Florida. By leveraging diverse student backgrounds rooted in business, the group members are able to advise clients on data driven solutions and innovative strategies.


Minority Business Society  
The primary goals of the Minority Business Society are to increase the retention ratio of graduating minority students, to aid employers in the identification and recruitment of prospective employees, and to assist in the professional and personal growth of minority students. The Minority Business Society offers developmental programs, such as academic forums and academic enrichment activities, and sponsors corporate presentations and seminars. Programs give employers an opportunity to informally interact with students.


Private Equity & Venture Capital Club 
 
The Private Equity and Venture Capital Club is a great way for students to develop and build a strong foundation in private equity and venture capital. Through general meetings that go over the basics of investing, technical workshops that cover financial modeling and guest speakers who provide industry and career insights, students become strong candidates in the alternative investment space. Club members develop skills which can make them stronger candidates for industry positions, with some members offered opportunities to intern with partnered private equity and venture capital firms.


Securities Society 
 
Founded in 2014, the Securities Society is FSU’s premier undergraduate finance organization.  Their goal is to bridge the gap between the markets and the classroom with an emphasis on providing students a hands-on experience in security analysis and portfolio management.  Members focus on skills necessary to succeed in a financial services career with specific emphasis on Investment Banking, Asset Management, Sales and Trading, and Wealth Management.  

The group enhances the student learning experience by applying financial theories and knowledge in a series of workshops.  In addition, the Securities Society organizes both a portfolio competition and an investment banking valuation competition.


Sports Analytics Club 
 
The Sports Analytics Club at FSU was founded in order to bring the university together through sports and data analysis.  The club focuses on the quantitative analysis of sports and development of members through projects, learning from leaders in the industry, and other development activities.  The club initiates projects with the intention of furthering members understanding of data analytics and the integral role it plays in the sports world.  The annual FSU Sports Analytics Summit is a conference founded by students that is organized and hosted by members of the Sports Analytics Club.


Willow Partners (Noles on Wall Street) 
Willow Partners is an undergraduate business society that is managed by a group of business seniors with investment banking experience.  The society was started in 2015 to place students in highly selective internships and full-time positions with Wall Street companies.  The group targets freshmen and sophomores who demonstrate real interest and promise in investment banking and wealth management.

Each year the highest-performing students in the program are invited to attend a corporate tour in New York City sponsored by the College of Business.  During the trip, students meet with industry professionals, participate in workshops, and attend networking events with alumni.


Women in Business 
       
Women in Business strives to promote an awareness of the dynamic role of women in today's business environment and provides a forum for developing a critical discourse of that role. The organization serves as a developmental education and networking tool for students, faculty, staff, and business professionals alike.  With the aim of promoting professional enrichment and education, the organization hosts guest speakers, holds workshops, participates in community service activities, and offers professional social activities throughout the year.

American Marketing Association Student Chapter (AMA) 

 

       
The American Marketing Association (AMA) is the world’s largest and most comprehensive professional society, consisting of both professional and collegiate chapters.  There are currently 390 AMA collegiate chapters taking advantage of membership in marketing’s premier professional organization.

AMA's mission is to promote education and further the professional development of students through leadership training and involvement in the field of marketing.  Participation in the FSU collegiate chapter will provide students with experiences that increase their value in today’s competitive job environment.


Association for Information Systems (AIS) Student Chapter 
 
A professional student organization dedicated to promoting better knowledge and understanding of information systems and technology, the AID serves society through the advancement of knowledge and promotion of excellence in the information systems industry.  The organization aids students in career development via career building workshops, regular speaking engagements with industry professionals, and networking events.


Financial Management Association (FMA) Student Chapter 
The Financial Management Association aims to broaden the common interests between academicians and practitioners, as well as provide opportunities for professional interaction among both populations and students.  Additionally, the organization enhances the quality of education in finance and promotes the development and understanding of research and of sound financial practices.  

The FSU student chapter helps members merge the gap between learning the basics of finance and seeing how finance is practiced.  This is accomplished through facilitating opportunities for direct communication with current finance professionals from all spectrums of the industry. 


National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Student Chapter 
The National Association of Black Accountants is a nonprofit association that strives to bridge the opportunity gap for black professionals in the fields of accounting and finance.  The mission of NABA is to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders who shape the future of the financial professions with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors.


Real Estate Society 
 
The purpose of the Real Estate Society is to provide opportunities for members to enhance their knowledge of the real estate industry through first-hand activities and contact with real estate professionals in a variety of fields.  Meetings will typically feature a professional speaker in such a field as appraisal, development, lending, law, investment, brokerage, consulting, design, or construction.  

Additionally, a corporate tour is organized by the Society each semester.  Tours are designed not only to allow the members to gain firsthand knowledge from respected industry professionals, but also to help introduce members to potential employers.


Sales Club 
       
The mission of the Sales Club is to improve members' understanding of sales as a profession and to provide the opportunity to sharpen their selling skills. The organization also promotes the Professional Sales major and creates superior access to careers in selling.


Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Student Chapter at FSU 

Florida State's student chapter of SHRM is focused on building a stronger human resource professional by giving students a glimpse beyond the classroom experience and into the real world of work and HR. The SHRM provides stronger HR professionals by providing information on career options, career preparation, assistance in finding employment and social interaction for its student members.

FSU’s student chapter is closely aligned with the college’s Center for Human Resource Management and the Big Bend SHRM.  By fostering relationships between students and professionals, students are provided with realistic insights into the world of the HR professional.


Women in Accounting 
    
The mission of Women in Accounting is to inform students about the various opportunities in the accounting and finance fields, connect them with potential employers, and to aid in turning those opportunities into careers.  They are dedicated to providing members with the knowledge, leadership skills and professionalism desired in the business world today.

Meetings and events are not only a great way to get to know other students, but also provide opportunities to meet with recruiters from top firms. Members will get to interact with professionals in their field and learn about the industry through presentations, panel discussion and one-on-one networking time.

Graduate Student Organizations

Doctoral Business Student Association (DBSA)

 

 
The Doctoral Business Student Association brings business doctoral students together to coordinate both academic and social planning to make this interaction effective. It provides a forum for providing input to the Ph.D. Policy Committee on program design, academic policies and procedures and general student issue.  Additionally, the DBSA schedules social events throughout the academic year involving doctoral students, faculty and their families.


Master of Accounting (MAcc) Student Association 
The MAcc Association promotes camaraderie between students and coordinates both academic and social planning.  The association provides a forum where students can share information and advice on the recruiting process, CPA exam preparation and other matters relevant to a graduate accounting student. 


Master of Business Administration (MBA) Student Association (MBAA) 
The MBA Association is a graduate student organization dedicated to improving the academic and social experience of graduate students in the College of Business.  The association coordinates social events to promote camaraderie in the program, hosts business communication workshops and public speakers, and organizes business networking conferences.  Additionally, the association helps to enhance the relations between current students and alumni. 


Master of Science in Finance (MSF) Student Association 
The MSF Student Association promotes camaraderie between students, fosters relationships with alumni and provides students with resources to support their professional development and career search. The association organizes a series of social events that encourage interaction between current students, faculty and recent graduates. Additionally, it provides a forum where students can share information and advice on career opportunities through speaker events, information sessions, online exchanges, mentor programs, resumé reviews, and practice interviews.

Honor Societies & Councils

Beta Alpha Psi 

 

Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals.  The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field, which includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals; and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.


Beta Gamma Sigma
Beta Gamma Sigma is the exclusive international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.  Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma's mission is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the society and to serve its lifelong members. 

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere can receive in an AACSB business program. Invitations to qualifying College of Business students are sent each spring semester.


Presidents Council
Composed of the undergraduate student groups' presidents, the Presidents Council ensures important information is shared between the various student groups so all undergraduate business students are aware of professional development opportunities that may benefit them. The council also serves as the primary mechanism for information to flow between the Dean's Office and the college's undergraduate student groups.

The Presidents Council encourages professional behavior among undergraduate business students and typically sponsors one major student activity each year designed to increase students' knowledge of workplace expectations.


Student Leadership Council (SLC) 
 
The Student Leadership Council (SLC) advances the preeminence of the College of Business and promotes student engagement, collaboration and connection both within the college and among the broader stakeholder community. The mission of the SLC is built in alignment with the goals of the dean and the College of Business Board of Governors. The SLC is composed of approximately 20 discipline-specific, exemplary business students representing each of the College of Business departments.
