JACKSONVILLE, FL - On Friday, June 1st at Deercreek Country Club, during the Jay Abraham Wine Gala, the Jacksonville Seminole Club awarded the inaugural scholarships from the Jay Abraham Scholarship Fund. Four students from Florida State University, Dedman School of Hospitality were selected on the basis of work history, academics, financial need, and written expression of aspirations. The awardees are Chris Cheeseman, Teresa Doherty, Mark Rerscher, and Melanie Rodriguez. Each scholarship, in the amount of $2,500, was presented in memory of Jay Abraham, past president of the Jacksonville Seminole Club. As a supportive alumnus of Florida State University and a leader in the Wine Industry, Jay Abraham would have known the impact a Dedman graduate could have on Florida's economy. Through this generous scholarship program the legacy of Jay Abraham in the Hospitality industry will continue to grow.
