Sydney has a metropolitan area population of approximately 4.34 million and an area of approximately 12,000 square kilometers. Its inhabitants are called Sydneysiders, and Sydney is often called “the Harbour City,” “the City of Villages” and “the Emerald City.” It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. It is home to the iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The metropolitan area is surrounded by national parks, and contains many bays, rivers and inlets. Sydney has hosted major international sporting events, including the 1938 British Empire Games, 2000 Summer Olympics and the final of the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Sydney is an international center for arts, fashion, culture, commerce, education, industry, sports and tourism. It is considered an alpha + world city, making it the only one in Australia and in the Oceana region, listed by  the Loughborough University group’s 2008 inventory and ranked 16th among global cities by Foreign Policy’s 2008 Global Cities Index.

  • A financial hub for Australia and the Asia Pacific, Sydney has a financial services workforce half the size of London’s and approaching half of New York’s.
  • Sydney is home to cutting-edge manufacturers of advanced products from medical devices to defense and aerospace.
  • As host of 2000 Olympic Games, Sydney showcased to the world its logistics, infrastructure and construction capabilities. 
  • Sydney is a center for highly skilled film, digital animation, television and other creative industries.
  • The city offers a more cost competitive office location than other major business centers and an open and efficient regulatory environment.
  • Sydney is the capital of Australia’s leading business State, New South Wales, whose economy is larger than that of Hong Kong, Malaysia or Singapore, and accounts for more than one third of Australia’s GDP.
  • New South Wales is a significant producer of low cost mineral resources and a major world supplier of coal.


Program fees will be $2200. This includes shared occupancy housing, in-country transport, meals and admittance to cultural events.

Airfare will be approximately $1500. You are responsible for obtaining your passport and any visas you may need.

This is an academic course which counts as three hours of elective credit. Tuition is not included. You will register for this course along with your others.
