Pursuing an MBA at Florida State University is one intense learning experience, Jen Sexton said.

After running the radio station at Vanderbilt University, Sexton decided she wanted to get better at managing people. She chose FSU because it was closer to her family in Florida.

“When you walk in, you have to be ready to go,” Sexton said of the one-year full-time program. “Professors are astounding and will push you to your limit. But you’ll walk out with a sense of pride and accomplishment.”

During her year of management studies, Sexton discovered she liked the analysis and dissection of a company and its decisions. She has decided to continue her education in strategic management and is staying at FSU to complete a Ph.D.

All work aside, Sexton said, there are plenty of opportunities to socialize outside the classroom. Dinners out, trivia nights, community service keep students engaged.
