Retirement at sixty-five is ridiculous. When I was sixty-five I still had pimples. ~George Burns

On February 25th, I turned 65, and I do not have pimples! At the risk of repeating the millions of others that have said this before, it is so hard to believe that this day has come. During this short time, I have been given so much to be grateful for: my family, my health and my wonderful friends.

As this birthday loomed ahead of me, I spent quite a bit of time thinking about how I wanted to engineer (my Georgia Tech background is showing now) my next evolution. At the top of my list is having more time with my family - especially my wife, my children and my wonderful grandson, Jackson. Additionally, I want to have more fun, experience many new things and just be.

With that said, I am sure that you can imagine where this is heading. In terms of this reengineering, I have decided to reduce the number of columns that I write to one per week. I will continue to write the general column on business, but this will be the last column I write that deals with start-up businesses.

Over the last 18 months, I have enjoyed writing this column. As a result, I have had the opportunity to field some great questions on topics ranging from starting a bed and breakfast in Aruba to getting a micro loan. Your questions have challenged me to give in-depth answers rather than my typical glib responses, and I have greatly enjoyed receiving feedback. Many people have written to thank me for getting them on the right path. Equally wonderful have been the comments from those readers who saw one of my columns and felt its topic was relevant to something they were going through.

Saying good-bye is tough as I will really miss answering your questions. However, please feel free to write to me with any questions you might have. This column may no longer be appearing in print, but I am still here to help entrepreneurs and hopefuls be as successful as they can possibly be.

My best to you in your entrepreneurial venture!
