About JMI

Jim MoranJMI was established in 1995 through generous donations from automobile industry legend Jim Moran and his wife, Jan, and from JM Family Enterprises, Inc. The donations were supplemented with a major grant from the State of Florida, creating a fully funded endowment. This has enabled JMI to provide a wide range of services to the entrepreneur at no charge.

JMI assistance includes providing consultation to entrepreneurs and owners of rapidly growing businesses, with annual sales between $1,000,000 and $10,000,000, to make strategic decisions that will enable them to improve their profitability and performance levels.

As the prospect of operating a business in the future becomes more and more complex, JMI will be a continual source of education aimed at keeping entrepreneurs informed and prepared to meet the challenge of coming trends.

Since its inception, JMI has directly assisted over 3,000 businesses throughout the state of Florida.

The mission of The Jim Moran Institute (JMI) for Global Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Florida State University is to nurture the growth and development of entrepreneurship in the global marketplace through practical assistance, applied education, and public recognition.
