Note: The Marketing major is a limited access program. To be admitted to the Marketing major, a student must meet the admission requirements for limited access programs in business. These requirements are described in a separate handout titled Admission Requirements for College of Business Limited Access Programs.

Lower-level Prerequisites for Marketing Majors: Students must earn a "C-" or better in each course. All of these courses, except ACG 2071, must be completed prior to admission to the Marketing major.

Additional Information:

1. Completing a concentration is NOT required. Students, if they choose a concentration, may select their marketing electives to complete one of the following concentrations.

Service Operations: Take MAR 4841 Services Marketing, and three marketing electives.

Professional Selling: Take MAR3400 Professional Selling, MAR 4403 Sales Management, MAR 4415 Advanced Selling Techniques, plus any one (1) other marketing elective. IF you are counting MAR 3400 as a General Business Breadth Elective, you must complete MAR 4403, MAR 4415 and two other marketing electives.

2. In addition to the requirements outlined above, each student must complete all University-wide requirements for graduation. These requirements include liberal studies requirements, the multicultural requirement, the Gordon Rule writing requirement, the summer school requirement, the FSU residency requirement, and total hours requirements.

3. Transfer of upper-level business courses must be from business colleges at other 4-year, accredited institutions. These courses must carry prerequisites similar to those of the courses they are replacing, and they must be approved by the College of Business Undergraduate Programs Office. Once enrolled at FSU, students should not take any course at another institution without first receiving approval from the College of Business Undergraduate Programs Office.
