Upload resume through Secure Apps
The FSU Career Center’s SeminoleLink Web site for posting resumes and seeking on-campus job interviews can now be accessed through the Secure Applications tab on Blackboard. Look for "Career Center SeminoleLink" in the left-hand column. MBAs are expected to upload their resumes to this site by mid-September. For more information, contact Joanna Southerland, director of graduate programs support.
Choose your courses
Start plotting and planning your fall semester. Registration opens next Tuesday, July 8. The on-campus schedule is posted in COB Graduate Student Organization in Blackboard Students needing assistance may contact Scheri Martin,coordinator of on-campus graduate programs. Online students should receive information from Kim Burkes, online registrar, before registering. Registration runs through Aug. 1.
Go for best dressed
Lise Diez-Arguelles, business communications expert, shares tips on professional attire for interviews and networking at 12:30 p.m. next Wednesday, July 9, in Weichelt Lounge, 220 Rovetta Business Building. The session is part of this summer’s “Get a Job” series. Lunch will be provided; all full-time MBAs are expected to attend.

Association offers deal on T-shirts
MBAs who pay their MBA Association dues before the end of the summer term will receive a 25-percent discount on their T-shirt purchase, said Ryan Dietz, MBAA president. Keep posted for a survey from the MBA Association regarding T-shirt designs for this school year. For more information, contact Edwin Alexander, MBA Association secretary.
Congratulations, colleagues
Joan Gabel, who teaches the MBA Legal Environment course, has been named Advisory Editor-in-Chief for the American Business Law Journal, the business law discipline’s premier journal. Gabel previously served as the journal’s Editor-in-Chief from 2004 to 2006.
Molly Wasko, who teaches two MBA courses – Project Management; Information and Technology Management – has received this year’s Joan Raley Award. “This award honors a faculty member who exhibits extraordinary service to students and comes with a $1,000 honorarium,” said Caryn Beck-Dudley, dean of the College of Business.
Amanda Winchip, full-time MBA, will be sworn into the Congress of Graduate Students Tuesday. She is representing the MBA Association. The Congress’ budget committee is instrumental in deciding how to allocate student fee money among graduate student organizations in FSU’s colleges and schools. Students interested in filling a congress seat opening later this year should contact Ryan Dietz, MBA Association president, for more information.
