The Master Plan for July 21, 2008
Remember to register
Next Friday, Aug. 1, is the deadline to register for the fall semester. The on-campus schedule is posted in COB Graduate Student Organization in Blackboard. Students needing assistance may contact Scheri Martin, coordinator of on-campus graduate programs. Online students should receive information from Kim Burkes, online registrar, pictured, before registering.
Martin and Burkes ask students to be patient as they manually adjust each course’s credit hours to the three-hour system. Initially upon registering, your course listings may appear as four-hour courses, Martin said.
Practice your interview skills
Sign up for a mock interview this Friday in the COB Graduate Student Organization in Blackboard. A few spaces are still left this week and Aug. 1. Registrants will be e-mailed the interview location. Participants should be on time and bring two printed resumes with them. Contact Joanna Southerland, director of graduate programs support, for more information.
Seminar canceled
Wednesday’s “Get a Job” session with Wayne Hochwarter has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict with debate times for William Christiansen’s Economics and Business Conditions class for full-time MBAs. Keep posted for a session on resume writing this summer or early September, said Joanna Southerland, seminar coordinator. Get a head start by checking out these resume tips.
Lise Diez-Arugelles follow-up
Lise Diez-Arguelles, who led the recent "Get a Job" session on professional dress, mentioned a Web site developed at Yale University that addresses business attire. See this Web site for photo examples.
