We ask that you:

  • Please be prompt
  • Please make sure to bring your wireless laptop on Wednesday
  • Dress is business casual

Below is the schedule for our three-day orientation. Students who have never attended Florida State University (FSU) will be required to come on Wednesday morning. The entire class will meet together at 11:30 a.m. for lunch provided by FSU.

The first day is designed to explain the processes and applications you will use as a student. You will meet our Caryn Beck-Dudley, dean of the College of Business; Dr. Bruce Lamont, who directs graduate programs; and some of the faculty who will teach you throughout the year. Dean Beck-Dudley will host a reception in your honor that evening at our University Center Club.

On the second day, we will review the opportunities we -- that is, the College of Business graduate programs staff and the FSU Career Center -- provide throughout your school year to enhance the quality of your education and job search. You will meet MBA students and graduates for a Q & A about their past experiences.

As an MBA student you are required to do many group projects. The third day we will do a series of team-building projects, including a ropes course, at the FSU Seminole Reservation

We ask that you dress in business casual for the first two days and bring your laptop on Wednesday only. At the reservation, you should dress in comfortable, cool clothing.

You can address any orientation questions via e-mail to Joanna Southerland, director of graduate programs support services or call 850.644.1480. If you have any special accommodations or dietary needs, please e-mail Joanna Southerland by April 27, 2008.

Academic questions should be sent to Scheri Martin, director of on-campus graduate programs. Phone: 850.644.0586. Need help finding an apartment? Contact Lisa Beverly, director of graduate admissions.
