Information for Prospective Students | Current Students | Alumni | Corporate Visitors Advanced Technology ConcentrationThe technical track in the MIS master's degree is prepares students to work in the fields of design, analysis, implementation and operation of computer-based information systems. Students preferring a technical orientation will take three advanced MIS courses in the areas of systems analysis, database, and telecommunications. Students should not choose the technical track if they lack fundamental skills in systems analysis, database, and telecommunications. Our program builds technical skills with a theoretical, hands-on, and project-based curriculum. Students pursuing the MIS technical track are introduced to the latest technologies. Our students will become knowledge leaders in current technical trends. Advanced technology track students take the seven MIS core courses, one MBA course, and three technical concentration courses. Managerial ConcentrationOur managerial track is designed to prepare students for lifelong careers in designing, managing, or consulting about information technologies and services, in public, corporate, and nonprofit organizations. The FSU MIS online program combines information technologies education with essential career development skills of communication, team building, analysis, and critical thinking. We are positioning our graduates for careers in the dynamic world of technology. Our management track is coupled with our FSU online MBA, one of the first online MBA programs in the nation.
