Fraternity hosts "Get On The Ball" fundraiser for
Children's Miracle Network

Zeta Beta Tau uses giant beach ball to garner donations for national charity

Tallahassee, Fla. - Don't be surprised if you see a six-foot beach ball bouncing around campus. In fact if you see it, add your signature to the Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) Fraternity's biggest philanthropy event of the year: "Get On The Ball!"

From March 23 – 27, 2009, the ZBT brothers will be rolling a giant beach ball around the Florida State University campus collecting signatures from students, faculty and staff to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. Each signature counts, as companies have pledged a small amount per signature, and the goal is to raise $5,000.00.

Caryn Beck-Dudley, dean of the College of Business, lent her signature to the beach ball this past Wednesday, March 25, 2009, as ZBT brothers and College of Business students Jared Reosenberg (accounting), Daniel Schneider (finance and management), Adam Kramer (entrepreneurship), William Martin (multinational business) and Sean Gilliam (hospitality administration and management) hosted a signature collection event at the Rosetta Business Building.

The Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.

From Zeta Beta Tau FSU President Andrew Stacey on ZBT:
Welcome to Zeta Beta Tau, a Powerhouse of Excellence. From our founding as a Zionist organization for men, to the elimination of sectarianism, to the elimination of pledging and hazing, ZBT has always been different. Here at Florida State we hold true to continuing growth of all brothers in the Social, Service, Athletic, Alumni, Bonding, and Education areas. We believe that, rather than earning membership over a semester long pledge process, all our members are equal; we must earn our membership everyday by living the values of the fraternity. All of the brothers of Zeta Alpha are involved not only in the life of the fraternity, but also in a number of other on-campus organizations. The brothers of ZBT are leaders, warm, genuine, and sincere. If there is one outstanding quality that the Zeta Alpha brothers of Zeta Beta Tau share, it is their drive to achieve and stand out with excellence; we represent the best of what it means to be different.
