"I couldn't be more thankful for everything that has happened at Florida State," says Griffin. "I couldn't have picked a better place to come."

Sarah Griffin

Senior in Finance

Sarah Griffin, a middle-blocker for FSU's volleyball team, is a star both on the court and off. A senior majoring in finance, Griffin manages her time in the classroom, on the court and the community amazingly well for someone who has her hands in everything around her. In fact, she excels in whatever she sets out to accomplish.

Academically speaking, Griffin was named to the Academic All-ACC team last year and made the league's academic honor roll for the third straight season. In addition to her commitment in the classroom, Griffin's student body participation includes being the president of Florida State's Student Athlete Advisory Council and she is on the executive board of the Seminole Student Boosters.

It would seem that someone so involved in athletics and academics would have little time to make an impact anywhere else. Then you just don't know Griffin because she also has received awards for her community service. She won the athletic department's Impact Award in 2004- 05 and was recognized this past April with another award for her community service, which involved visiting a secondgrade class weekly and working with the Special Olympics.
