Lauren Dalton FSU’s College of Business hires new internship director New position to further internship options for graduate, undergraduate students TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The College of Business welcomed Lauren Dalton this week as the new director of internship programs. This new position seeks to further develop the internship and career development opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students. Dalton will be responsible for creating career development opportunities by connecting students with alumni and employers, identifying internship opportunities, monitoring interns via communication with participating employers, providing career counseling and promoting the College of Business internship efforts to current students and the school community. "Ms. Dalton is an essential team member for us at the College of Business," said Caryn L. Beck-Dudley, dean of the college. "Our efforts don't stop merely at educating the students. We strive to connect them with real-world experiences and opportunities that will result in successful employment in the field. Ms. Dalton will bridge this gap between the students and the employers." Dalton holds a master's degree from Florida State University in global product development and a bachelor's degree in textiles and consumer sciences. She returns to the university from a position at Liz Claiborne, Inc., where she worked for Kate Spade New York, one of the four direct brands with a global portfolio of retail premium designer clothing and accessories. While working at the New York City office, Ms. Dalton served as an assistant to the product managers and a liaison between the corporate product team and their overseas factories. "I am very happy to be back at Florida State and to be working in the College of Business," Dalton said. "As internship director, my mission is to get our students into quality internships that will not only give them the real-world skills they need, but will also place them in a career position after graduation. Internships are the ultimate way to experience the real world before making a serious career decision, and we want to see them gainfully employed in a field that they thoroughly enjoy."
