Real Estate Scholarship Opportunities

CREW Network Scholarships: CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Network is offering ten $10,000 scholarships to female students enrolled in their junior or senior year of study and interested in pursuing a career in commercial real estate.  Applicants must be of junior or senior standing and have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.  Deadline for applications is Friday, June 20, 2008.  Please visit the website at www.crewcareerzone.org for application and instructions.

Departmental Scholarships:   Scholarship monies are awarded at the beginning of each Fall Semester and recipients are announced during the annual Networking & Trends Conference.  Applications must be returned to the Department Office (RBA 313) by the deadline posted for a particular semester.

  1. Crossman & Company Endowed Scholarship Fund: Established by John Crossman in 2006, this endowment provides scholarship support for deserving undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Business, with first preference given to those majoring in real estate. The scholarship selection criteria include academic merit, service activities, and financial need.
  2. Joan H. Raley, REALTOR, Scholarship:Awarded annually to two real estate majors in the College of Business at Florida State University. Funding for the award is supported by an annual gift from Ms. Joan H. Raley. The scholarship selection criteria include academic merit, service activities, and financial need. Preference is given to those students who have expressed an interest in pursing a career in real estate brokerage.
  3. Teel, Teel, and Hatcher Scholarship Fund:Established by Bill Teel, Clara Milligan Teel, and Ann Teel Hatcher to provide support for undergraduate students with a demonstrated financial need. Annual investment income from the fund is used to award scholarships to upper level (junior and senior) real estate and risk management majors. The scholarship selection criteria include demonstrated academic success, community service, and outstanding moral character. First preference is given to students whose legal residence is within the Florida Panhandle; second preference is given to students who are legal residents of the state of Florida.

Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) Scholarship: This scholarship program will provide up to $1,500 per semester to qualified undergraduate students. Please visit the Florida Real Estate Commission Scholarship Program website to download an application and instructions.

Appraisal Institute Education Trust Scholarship: The Appraisal Institute Education Trust awards scholarships in the amount of $3,000 for graduate students and $2,000 for undergraduates majoring in real estate appraisal, land economics, real estate, or allied fields. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and are intended to help finance the educational endeavors of individuals concentrating their studies in the aforementioned areas. Applications are available starting in November, with a March 15th deadline for the ensuing academic year. George M. Brooker Collegiate Scholarship for Minorities (the "Brooker Scholarship"): The Brooker Scholarship is designed to assist minority students, on the basis of academic excellence, who are committed to a career in real estate--specifically real estate management--upon graduation. Scholarship awards are made annually in June for the ensuing academic year. One graduate-level ($2,500) and two undergraduate-level awards ($1,000) are made. CCIM Institute Scholarship: Since 1988, the Education Foundation of the CCIM INSTITUTE has been granting University Scholarships. In 1991, it established an incorporated Education Foundation to fund and grant these University Scholarships. The purpose of CCIM Institute's Education Foundation Scholarship Program is to encourage and assist students desiring a career in real estate and to promote high educational standards. This program enables commendable university students majoring in real estate to experience our education first hand.

The John C. Staninger Memorial Scholarship: In 1978, the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, Inc. created the John C. Staninger Memorial Foundation for the prime purpose of granting educational scholarships to qualified students showing an interest in real estate for a career. The trust was created in memory of John C. Staninger, outstanding realtor, civic leader, and businessman. Awards are based on academic achievement, participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of plans and goals, and recommendations. Awards are made without regard to race, creed, color, sex, religion, or national origin. Applications are due July 1 for the following year.
