Bobby Byrd began developing and building communities in the Tampa Bay area in the early 1970's. His real estate firm, Bobby Byrd Real Estate, grew to be the largest independent real estate firm in Pinellas County. He has been successful with land acquisition and development of some of Pinellas and Hillsborough County's most prestigious properties.

In 1990 he served as President of the Florida Association of Realtors and in 1992 was named Realtor of the Year. Past president of the Greater Clearwater Chamber of Commerce and Clearwater Rotary Club are just some of the leadership positions he has held from local to national levels. In 1987 he received the Small Business Person of the Year Award. Bobby currently serves on the board of directors for a local bank and hospital.

Bobby is a 1962 Graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Government and a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. His two sons, Brant and Brooks, also graduates of Florida State University, have joined the family business.

Bobby was a Captain, Naval Aviator, in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962-1968. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross as well as the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
