Dr. James Doran

Dr. James Doran is the Bank of America Assistant Professor of Finance at Florida State University, where he teaches Option Pricing and Financial Risk Management, Investment Theory, and Asset Pricing at the undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. level. Dr. Doran research is in the area of volatility and jump risk, both in equity and energy markets. He has published numerous articles in the areas of option pricing, energy finance, and portfolio risk management in journals such as The Journal of Futures Markets, Review of Derivative Research, The Journal of Risk, and The Journal of Banking and Finance.

Dr. Doran consults for Optinometrics, a option data and strategy firm, and multiple Hedge funds. He is also the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Implied Capital, a market-neutral fund that specializes in option and volatility markets. Dr. Doran received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Computer Science from Emory University and a PhD in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. At Emory University, he was an academic All-American in soccer.


Dr. Danling Jiang

Danling Jiang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance at Florida State University. She earned her Ph.D. from the Ohio State University in 2006 and her B.A with honors from Nanjing University in 1999. Her research focus is in behavioral finance and empirical asset pricing and has published a paper in The Organization Behavior and Human Decision Processes journal.
