Welcome to Florida Restaurant Association
Focus:
Our monthly meetings are held at local restaurants and bars allowing members to be exposed to a variety of restaurant styles and cuisine. Guest speakers discuss everything from current industry issues to the steps it took to create their restaurant. By volunteering at local charity events our members are able to not only meet business leaders, but give back to the community. Our trips focus on helping students understand current issues in the restaurant industry as well as a good understanding of what working in the restaurant industry is really like.
Benefits:
By joining FRA, students are provided access to local restaurateurs and are provided with many great opportunities to network both within the Tallahassee community as well as within any other communities which may be visited throughout the year. The Chicago trip is a big plus but we are also in process of securing another trip which will be accessible to more of our members- possibilities include the Orlando Food and Wine Fest, Destin’s Taste of the Beach, Tampa, Savannah, or some other place that the members would like to visit. FRA members will also be attending a Food Handler Certification class to receive their Florida Food Handler Card which will make them marketable to employers and will be participating as volunteers with Brewfest Tallahassee. FRA also partners with NSMH and Red Lobster to provide the Career Fair Workshop each year and will be hearing from them at our first meeting, Sept. 10th.
Please contact any FRA officer for more information on how to join the Florida Restaurant Association and for upcoming meetings and events.
