Resume CD-ROM Guidelines
Spring 2008
Due Date is Sunday, January 20!
Make sure to e-mail résumés to
Sheila Sao
by Midnight on January 20, if you would like it to be in the
Spring 2008
Resume Book.
Résumés that do not follow these guidelines will have to be revised, so if you have any
questions, ask before the due date!
Each semester, the MIS Association sends out a résumé CD to many companies known to hire
MIS Majors. They are also passed out to companies at Seminole Futures.
Because the résumé CD represents not only yourself but the Association as a whole, the
following guidelines have been established:
- All résumés must be formatted using proportional fonts such as Times Roman,
Helvetica, Arial, etc.
- Only use a 10 pt or 12 pt font size
- Résumés should be in two column format with categories on the left and
descriptions on the right. Category names should be consistent; they should
include, but are not limited to: Career Objective, Education, Work Experience,
Computer Experience, and Honors and Activities. You are not restricted to using
these exact terms, similar terms may be substituted.
- We recommend the strategic use of bold type and division lines for clarity.
- Résumé is limited to ONE PAGE only
- Only relevant work experience should be included on your résumé.
- You must turn your résumé in via email.
- Your résumé must be a Microsoft Word document. The file must be
named using your first initial and entire last name. For example, Beetle Bailey would
send his résumé as a Microsoft Word document named bbaily.doc.
Résumés may be turned in by email at any time until midnight on the due date.
Résumés that do not follow these guidelines will have to be revised, so if you have any
questions, ask before the due date!
