Membership Information

Membership is open to all Florida State University students regardless of major.   Membership costs are $35.00 per semester for Brothers.  For New Members, membership costs are $50.00 per semester of initiation at the chapter level and a $70.00 one-time fee for student membership at the national level.  The total cost of initiate membership is $120.00.  Membership applications are available from any of the Executive Board Officers at chapter meetings.  Members are initiated in a ceremony at the end of each Fall and Spring semester based on fulfilling new member qualifications.

Dues must be paid by February 1st (to be inducted this Spring 2008 semester).

There are five requirements to become a member:

  1. FSU Student
  2. Paid Dues - $70 Nationals, $50 Chapter
  3. 60 Total Points by April 11, 2008. There are eight areas in which you can earn points (Mock Trial, Social, Philanthropy, Athletics, Publicity, Fundraising, Practice LSAT Examination, State Conference Attendance).  Three of these categories must be included in your points.
  4. Complete at least 12 interviews (Four of the interviews must be done with the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer and four members of the Leadership Board).  The rest can be with any other brother in the fraternity, excluding New Members Chairs.
  5. Score 80% or higher on the Final.
    We will prepare for the Final during initiate meetings with some quizzes.

Law School.....Look Before You Leap - PAD Pre-Law members receive a Pre-Law Manual produced by Phi Alpha Delta designed to expose PAD Pre-Law members to educational materials currently available from various publishers and organizations relating to law schools, the admission process, funding your legal education, and careers in the law. The streamlined digest of materials will save PAD Pre-Law students hours researching law school information.

Reporter Subscription

PAD Pre-Law members receive a free subscription to the PAD published Reporter. The Reporter is published quarterly and designed for PAD members and updates on programs being sponsored by PAD chapters throughout the United States.

PAD Pre-Law members receive the PAD Pre-Law Pin designed especially for our Pre-Law members.

PAD Pre-Law Membership Card

Distinguishes you as a PAD Pre-Law member and entitles you to worldwide car rental discounts with Hertz, Avis, and National.

On a national level PAD has negotiated significant LSAT Preparation Course discounts for PAD Pre-Law members through various LSAT Preparation Companies.
*PAD members receive a 10% discount from Kaplan prep courses.

PAD Pre-Law students are eligible to apply for the PAD MasterCard used by PAD's worldwide.

PAD Pre-Law Discount

PAD Pre-Law members receive a $10 discount on their initiation fee upon joining a PAD Law School Chapter.

Law School Contacts

PAD assists graduating PAD pre-law seniors in their transition to law school by providing them with names, addresses, and phone numbers of the PAD Law School Chapter Officers at the law school they will attend.
