Mock Trial Information

Each semester Phi Alpha Delta members can participate in an in-house mock trial competition.   Also known as the trial advocacy program, mock trials expose and prepare Phi Alpha Delta members for future courtroom experiences in law school and beyond.  Law students and local attorneys and judges serve as jurors or judges at the intramural competition.   The intramural competitions also serve as auditions for our Mock Trial Competition Team at the State and Regional level.  This team competes at the American Mock Trial Association competitions.

Our Spring In-House competition only requires each team to do one side of the case: either Prosecution or Defense.

On February 7th , Robert will give a brief presentation on our Mock Trial Program through a Mock Trial Information Session during our regularly scheduled meeting time.  He will also start taking names for the In-House Competition which will be March 25th .   The final sign-up for the In-House Competition will be on February 14th and teams will be compiled by February 21st’s meeting.   Phi Alpha Delta will also be sending a team to compete at the Annual State Competition @ UCF, but may possibly be sending two teams if needed.  The Mock Trial chairs will determine which teams and/or attorneys or witnesses will be representing Florida State University at the State Competition on March 31st-April 2nd in Orlando, Florida.
